Every once in a while I check Alexa’s statistics for national competitors. This weekend it was the turn of these two titles. Jiménez Losantos against Jesús Cacho. In Alexa, Federico wins. By the way, there’s one item that got my attention: his blog has up to 800 comments on one post and yet doesn’t show up on the most-read list on Wikio or Technorati.I imagine that it isn’t considered an independent blog, but part of an online publication. But in any case, it seems odd that there is no ranking for this type of blog. If they get so many comments, it’s because they are way out in front of those who we consider opinion leaders on the web, who rarely get more than 100 comments.
By the way, both are a long way off from the leader, El Mundo.
The few of us who, it seems, read a lot in Spain, and do so under any inclination - otherwise it would be impossible to have our own judgment - can confirm the foul temper that runs through Spanish veins and how unusual it is to speak well of anyone. The comments of a journalist about his most direct rival overshadow any confrontation between pro bloggers.
Maybe it’s because they have nicer pens and use them to pluck out the eyes of their colleague. In the blogosphere it’s smooth sailing compared with such intellectual differences of opinion…
