If an architect sees poetry in a masterwork of one of his colleagues -obviously, almost always dead- is it possible to see it in programming? In my previous post on whether or not there are “crack” programmers in Spain, certainly well-discussed, we talked indirectly about it.
Poetry is shown in any work of art. Is listing programming a form of art when it, compactly and with few resources, makes a machine obey us without question? When a normal programmer needs 100 lines of code and someone nearing perfection achieves a better effect in fewer than 25 and, furthermore, incorporates three features that seemed impossible, is that poetry?
In my opinion, there is poetry in all that is extraordinary and that gives you subtle pleasure that you cannot describe with words but that gives you goosebumps.
