In most cases the entrepreneur does not invent, he copies or improves upon existing models in other countries or even in our own, if the improvement is substantial. But what about the truly visionary entrepreneur? The one who wants to reinvent the world and who thinks years ahead of the rest?
Honestly, in our country this is made difficult by the lack of incentives for innovation and the little long-term vision of the investor. However, things are changing with the improvement in communication between Academia and Industry. Very technically advanced and long-term business projects are beginning to see the light.
Why is this relationship so important? The more futuristic a project is the more scientific backing it needs and Academia can support that better than an independent entrepreneur. In fact, DaD is increasingly more interested in seeing academic projects of this type, although, at the moment, it is difficult to find financing for them. In the new DaD, I am fighting to create a budget for this type of business that we are already naming “long/far shots.”
