We have served as founding partners of the project 24x7, providing support to Gustavo Garcia (Buyvip) and Nacho Somalo, to create a big player in online sales for select household products.
In recent months, several competitors have arisen in Spain and all of Europe but, what makes us unique? In the first place, Alice.com has been and continues to be the sector leader in the world. No competitor has a presence on both continents (Europe and the USA) and, above all, nobody has a technological development that cost millions and allows new dimensions in customer tracking and behavior reflection with each brand in particular.
It was also not a very typical operation: a Spanish company melding with the American leader prior to hitting the market, whose own entrepreneurs in the joint venture are on par with the Americans. It succeeded in getting a few million dollars, a valuation unheard of in Spain, to give it the financial muscle necessary to see it through.
My congratulations to Gustavo and Nacho who have worked harder than anyone. This is only the beginning of a great, global business venture and we must congratulate ourselves that it was possible from Spain. We are starting to have world-sized entrepreneurs and that, until now, was something we lacked.We are capable of creating 5 to 10 great Internet companies each year in our country; soon, we will be someone online and we will matter to large, global investors who, until now, have been reluctant to invest in Spain.
