Bitcoin, Nobodys Currency
I don't know if you have read this article on Bitcoin.
I recommend it. It seems that, from the self-imposed limit of 21 million dollars, there is already 7 million of this entirely online, virtual currency in circulation. Although it has already existed for a couple of years, what truly launched it was the news that Paypal stopped transferring money to Wikileaks. This was its moment of glory.
Created by a Japanese programmer, Sakoshi Makamoto, Bitcoins could be made illegal but, at the moment, they are developing well online. Since it is based on a completely decentralized Peer-to-Peer system, it is immune to censorship and does not require use of a bank or system of payment processing like Paypal, which, incidentally, is already blocking Bitcoin payments.
This is not the first time that anyone has tried to create a currency by the people for the people, nor will it be the last, but now the Internet makes it possible with much fewer problems and its diffusion could be explosive if the "greater" user accepts it in his environment.
